Middle Years Coordinator's Message

Esra Yildirim-Bas

Dear Parents,

As we approach to the end of Term 1, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have given both to your child and to the school. I would also like to thank my Middle Year Department for being a great team. Our grade 3 and 4 students worked very well this term and we had no issues with their behaviour. Keep it up grade 3's and 4's. I am proud with each of you!

For students to be successful in school:

  1. Students must read daily. At least 15-20 minutes daily.
  2. Please read to your child. This is beneficial in several ways. Students will improve their listening skills, while simultaneously building on their comprehension.
  3. Listen to your child read out loud. This will give you an insight on your child's reading (fluency), and whether they understand what they're reading.
  4. Please review and practice math facts, students still struggle with their times tables.
  5. Students must complete and submit their homework by the due date. Please sign the homework booklet so we know parents have checked their work. We also encourage parents to do homework with their child so you can see what they need to work on.

School Policy:

  1. Students must wear their full school uniform. For example: Grey skirt/ pink shirt, grey pants/blue shirt (students are allowed to wear their sports jackets). Girls must wear white stockings or white socks. Students can only wear their sports uniform when they have PE.
  2. Attend school daily and arrive on time, ready for the days learning experience.

Wishing you all a happy and safe break!

Regards,
Mrs. Esra Yildirim
